Setting Up Outlook Express v5 & v6

Outlook Express is the most commonly used e-mail application, and is often pre-installed on most Windows computers. It's included with the installations of Internet Explorer v5 and v6.

You can configure Outlook Express to check as many email accounts as you like - just follow the procedure below:

  • Start Outlook Express
  • From the Tools menu, choose the Accounts option.
  • When the Internet Accounts window opens, click on the Mail tab.

  • To modify an existing mail account configuration double click the entry in the displayed list.
  • To add a new mail account click on the Add button, and choose the Mail option.
  • In the Display Name field complete your name as you'd like it seen by people you mail, then click Next.

  • Add in your Gracemail.Com email address, and click Next.

  • On the Server Names dialogue, make sure you fill in the mail.gracemail.com server for POP3 access, and use your current SMTP server, or mail.gracemail.com if you want to use the supplied with your Gracemail.Com mail account, then click Next.

  • When requested for your Mailbox account name, please enter your complete Gracemail.com mail address.
  • Please enter the password supplied to you by email, then click Next.

  • Click Finish to complete the account set-up, and return to the Internet Accounts dialog.

  • Highlight the new mail.gracemail.com account and click on Properties, then choose the Servers tab.

  • Enable the 'My server requires authentication' check box as below, then click the Settings buttton.

  • Make sure the Outgoing Mail Server is configured as below, then click OK to return to the mail.gracemail.com Properties dialog above, then click OK to return to the Internet Accounts dialog.

  • Click Close to return to Outlook Express.
